ABOUT LVA: EXECUTIVE TEAM
IAN CHEESEMAN, President, LVA Corporate Communications
Ian has spent 25 years in the communications industry as
a journalist and public relations executive. A former Senior Vice
President at CS Communications and Director of Corporate
Communications for American Express Company, he has extensive
experience in creating and executing communications strategies for a
variety of US and European corporations. Ian spent one year working
on secondment to the European Commission at the Centre de Calcul in
Luxembourg.
Prior to moving to the United States, Ian was a Managing Partner
at one of the UK's leading hi-tech and financial PR consultancies.
He is a former editor-in-chief of Computer News, a 100,000
circulation weekly newspaper for the UK computer industry and
contributing columnist for The Times (of London). He has also held
senior management and consulting positions in the data processing
industry. Ian has lived and worked in the United Kingdom,
Luxembourg, Germany and the United States.
JOANNE HOGUE, Senior Vice President, Operations
As senior vice president, Joanne is in charge of operations and
heads up the media relations team for LVA. She proactively pursues
business and IT print opportunities, as well as speaking engagements
on behalf of LVA's clients. Joanne oversees and organizes events,
media and analyst tours, and is responsible for maintaining client
relationships on the U.S. East Coast and the United Kingdom.
Joanne has secured coverage for her clients in business print
such as The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Fortune Small
Business, Forbes and Investors Business Daily and many other top
tier business, technology and financial publications.
Joanne came to LVA in March 1998. A native of the United
Kingdom, she held administrative and communications positions in
London at Sedgwicks UK and Coopers and Lybrand respectively.
LINDA CAPCARA, Vice President
Linda Capcara joined LVA in October 2006. As Senior Account Director,
Linda manages and creates strategy for LVA clients in addition to executing
global communications plans. In her 15 years of experience in the technology
sector, Linda has developed expertise in executive counsel, key message
development, writing, media and analyst relations, collateral creation,
Internet marketing and sales force communications.
Prior to joining LVA, Linda worked as a Marketing Programs Manager
at Intel Corporation where she was responsible managing the internal
and external image of Intel in storage products and technologies.
While at Intel, Linda provided counsel to senior management at events
such as the closing ceremony of the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York
City and the Intel Developers Forum in San Francisco.
Linda's previous experience includes positions at Brodeur Worldwide,
a global communications consultancy, and Motorola Semiconductor Products
Sector. In these positions, Linda led international public relations programs
to establish Fortune 500 companies as leaders in the consumer, medical,
networking, storage and wireless market segments.
Linda attended Arizona State University where she graduated with
both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master
of Mass Communications. Linda also earned an Associate Degree in
Electronic Engineering from Columbus Technical Institute in Columbus, Ohio.
JAY RUSSO, Account Director
Jay is the account director at LVA, where he has worked since
February 2001. In this position, Jay works with clients' senior
level management to set and oversee all facets of their PR agendas,
including media and analyst relations, press releases and trade show
support. Jay has garnered media coverage for his clients in leading
business and trade publications including the New York Times, The
Boston Business Journal, The Wichita Eagle and eWeek magazine.
Prior to joining LVA Communications, Jay worked for Gehrung
Associates in Keene, NH.
Jay graduated magna cum laude from Keene State College with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.
JEFF HORAN, Account Manager
Jeff Horan has been with LVA Communications since February 2001.
His main responsibility at the company is to manage and assist with
the day-to-day PR activities for his clients. During his time at LVA
Communications, Jeff has established relationships with key media
and industry analysts that cover the industries his clients operate
within. In addition to media and analyst relations, Jeff writes and
edits press releases, assists in coordinating his clients attendance
at industry events and interacts with his clients' customers
regarding joint PR activities.
Prior to joining LVA Communications, Jeff worked as a promotions
assistant at WQGN-FM in New London, CT, where he helped coordinate
local promotional events, assisted in the creation of contests and
corresponded with local businesses participating in events.
Jeff attended Eastern Connecticut State University in
Willimantic, CT and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in
Communications in 1999.
DINA GRILLS PETROSKY, Account Executive
As a member of the LVA Communications team since 1999, Dina secures
interviews for her clients, develops press releases and collateral material, and
contributes to the overall needs of the company. LVA highlights for Dina include
her involvement in a client's successful IPO and securing media coverage in
USA Today, CNBC's PowerLunch and CNN en Espanol.
Prior to LVA Communications, Dina enjoyed a decade-long career in
radio broadcasting. She has been a news director, modern rock disc jockey and
has hosted her own daily talk show. Dina and her news staff were the recipients
of the Associated Press Enterprise News Award.
Dina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from
The University of Rhode Island.
DEBORAH MITCHELL WELLER, Director of Finance
On staff at LVA Communications since 1997, Deb became director
of finance on a full time basis in 2001. She brings over 30 years of
financial expertise to the agency.
As finance director, Deb's responsibilities include client
accounts, payables and receivables as well as overseeing aspects of
office operations. Deb recently spearheaded an overhaul of LVA's
computer infrastructure.
Deb's previous positions include accounting supervisor of a
local community center and comptroller for a local, 4-store
automobile group.
Deb earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Connecticut
State University.
TAMMY DAUGHERTY, Junior Account Executive
Tammy has been with LVA Communications since September 2006.
Her responsibilities include assisting with the day-to-day PR activities for
her clients which includes maintaining speaking opportunity lists and
managing clients' press release distribution .
Prior to joining LVA, Tammy worked on behalf of an NGO coordinating
multiple educational, agricultural and medical projects in Central America.
Primarily based in New England, Tammy also spent time in Nicaragua directly
facilitating the efforts there. She is a former administrative assistant to the
V.P. of materials management and a production buyer for a marine instrumentation
manufacturing company in Connecticut. She also was a licensed real estate professional
representing residential and commercial clients.
NICOLE KELSEY, Administrative Assistant
Nicole is LVAšs lead administrative assistant. She keeps the staff on task and
tracks client press coverage and related press materials. She also aids in the scheduling
of media and analyst tours and directly assists LVAšs account executives with PR activities
that service our clients.
Prior to joining LVA Communications, Nicole worked for William Raveis Real Estate
as both a realtor and an administrative manager.
Nicole was a collegiate athlete and played basketball while attending Mitchell College.
After graduating from Mitchell, she attended the University of New Haven.
